Really?

Hi, um, personal space. Why are you talking to me? I asked her as my palms starting sweating. I was trying not to look at her. She was pretty but not all that. I couldn’t figure out why she was asking me all these personal questions. I didn’t know what her angle was. If you don’t know that about this life, everyone has one. Everyone has an angle. Everyone wants something. It usually involves money and everyone knows they need more of it. It is the thing we fear not having enough of and the thing that identifies us before anything else. My crew will say I’m wise. I’m not greedy. I take what I need but I don’t take more than what I could use. That’s why I haven’t been caught. That’s why I can live off the grid and out of the sight of any police radar. I’m tough because I have to be. I’m not friendly and I don’t know why this woman thinks she can talk to me out here on the sidewalk of a busy city where no one really cares about your name or who your parents were or what you like on your pizza. Yet, she is relentless in her pursuit for answers.
