Happiness Part 2

No one knew I saw the whole thing! I still can’t believe they didn’t notice me as they were running down the corridors I’ve called home for many nights now. The one that led them kept smiling and kept asking which direction they were supposed to go. If this was supposed to be a professional burglary, they had a lot to learn. They really needed someone who could read maps! Their plan was flawwed from the very beginning and it was all too obvious. I couldn’t help but laugh when they set off the alarms and the lights started flashing. I kicked my duffle bag under a tarp. The building was supposed to have some cosmetic work done on it later this year. The tarp concealed several paint cans and wallpaper. Fortunately, no one disturbed my stuff and I could watch these untrained burglars fumble around the building. It was very entertaining until the police came. I didn’t want anything to do with the police. They had a nasty habit of reminding me what I’m supposed to be doing with my life. I keep reminding them they don’t have to be worried about me. I almost wanted to tell them they should be concerned with these wannabe burglars.
